Staffing agencies are often used by companies to find and hire qualified employees. These agencies typically charge a fee only to the employer for their services, but do they also take a part of the employee’s paycheck?
The answer is generally no. Staffing agencies typically negotiate a rate with the employer that covers the cost of the employee’s wages, benefits, and the agency’s fee. The only items that is ususally deducted from your check is the regular taxes that would come out of your check regardless where you work.
This means that the employee’s paycheck is not reduced to cover the agency’s fee.
However, some agencies do charge a fee so it’s important to read and understand the terms of any contract before accepting a job.
At Vest Professional Placement we offer weekly pay by direct deposit or cash pay card. There is also a Vest Savings Plan that could help employees save money, without using a bank.
