Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Shipping Lead to join our team in Kansas City, KS. As a Shipping Lead, you will be responsible for managing the shipping department’s day-to-day operations and ensuring that all shipments are processed and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the shipping department and ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Operate a forklift to move materials, load and unload trucks.
Delegate tasks to the shipping team and ensure that all employees are performing their duties effectively.
Provide training and support to new and existing employees as needed.
Ensure that all shipping records are accurate and up-to-date.
Perform basic computer tasks, such as data entry, printing labels, and generating shipping documents.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all orders are fulfilled correctly and on time.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a shipping lead or supervisory role.
Experience operating a forklift is required.
Basic computer skills, including data entry and shipping software.
Ability to delegate tasks and manage a team effectively.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be able to work occasional Saturdays as needed.
